How Edges makes money

Affiliate commission, and nothing else. Here is exactly how it works, who pays us, and what stops it bending the numbers.

The arrangement

Some links on this site are affiliate links. If you click one, open an account and bet, the bookmaker may pay us a commission. It costs you nothing: you get the same odds, the same offers and the same terms as anyone arriving directly.

Who pays us and who does not

Bookmakers that can pay us today: Playabets, Betway, 10bet. These are the only books on the site carrying a live tracked link.

Of those, Betway, 10bet are not in the measured index. They pay us and we have measured nothing about them, so they are shown in a separate section on the bookmakers page marked unmeasured, carry no ranking and no value claim, and are never presented as good or bad value.

Approved but earning nothing: ApexBets, TopBet, Hollywoodbets. We hold accounts here but no working player-facing link, so no CTA is shown. ApexBets is in this group because the tracking link we were issued lands on an affiliate signup page rather than the sportsbook, and sending you to the wrong place is worse than sending you nowhere.

No relationship at all: Supabets. Measured and published anyway, because an index that only covered our partners would be an advert. If one of these books is cheapest, it is published as cheapest.

What stops commission influencing the numbers

  • The ranking is arithmetic. Position is computed from the measured margin. There is no editorial slider and no paid placement.
  • The method is public. Anyone can repeat the calculation from the same public prices and check us.
  • Non-partners are included. If a book we earn nothing from is cheapest, it ranks first.
  • Partners get criticised. When a partner runs an expensive market, that is what the table shows.
  • Nothing is deleted. Old tables stay published, so any drift toward flattering partners would be visible in the archive.

The conflict, acknowledged

Being paid by the companies we measure is a real conflict of interest and we are not going to pretend otherwise. The honest defence is not a promise, it is a design: publish the method, publish the raw comparison, include books that pay nothing, and never edit history. If we ever fail that standard, the evidence will be sitting in our own archive.
